The short version
Use Kodisc to make videos you are proud of. Do not use it to hurt people, break laws, or abuse the rendering cluster. Pay for what you use. We own the platform; you own what you create.
If any of this is a deal-breaker, stop using the product before it becomes one.
- 02
Acceptance
By creating an account or using Kodisc, you agree to these terms. If you are using Kodisc on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have the authority to bind that organisation.
If you disagree with anything here, do not use the service.
- 03
Your account
You are responsible for the credentials on your account, the activity that happens under it, and keeping your contact email current. Share accounts at your own risk.
- 04
Acceptable use
Do not use Kodisc to generate content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit involving minors, or designed to impersonate real people without consent.
Do not probe, scan, or abuse the rendering infrastructure. Do not submit prompts or code engineered to escape the sandbox, exhaust resources, or exfiltrate data.
Do not resell raw API access to Kodisc or scrape the platform for a competing product. Building on top of finished outputs you own is fine and encouraged.
We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate this section. Severe violations get an instant takedown and a note to your inbox explaining why.
- 05
Content and ownership
You keep ownership of the prompts you write and the rendered videos you produce on Kodisc. You grant us a narrow licence to host, process, transmit, and display that content strictly to run the service for you.
We may use aggregate, anonymised statistics about content and usage to improve the platform. We do not publish your raw prompts or videos, and we do not train foundation models on them.
Kodisc, the platform interface, and the underlying renderer tooling are ours. Nothing in these terms transfers our intellectual property to you.
- 06
AI-generated outputs
Kodisc generates Manim code and renders videos using large language models. Outputs can be wrong, biased, or unintentionally similar to existing works. Review before publishing, especially for anything commercial or educational.
You are responsible for verifying that your outputs do not infringe third-party rights and for complying with the licences of any reference material you upload.
- 07
Billing and plans
Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis. By subscribing, you authorise recurring charges until you cancel.
Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access through the end of the current billing period. We do not prorate mid-period cancellations by default; email hello@kodisc.com if something went wrong and we will make it right.
Render credits are consumed as you render. Unused credits expire per the terms of the plan you purchased them under, clearly shown at checkout.
We may change pricing. Existing subscribers get at least thirty days of notice before a price increase takes effect on their plan.
- 08
Termination
You can close your account at any time from settings. We will delete your data per the retention rules in the privacy policy.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, put the platform at risk, or go unpaid. Where possible we warn first; for egregious violations we act immediately.
- 09
Disclaimers
Kodisc is provided 'as is' and 'as available'. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that rendered videos will be accurate, reliable, or fit for any specific use. Do not use Kodisc outputs as the sole source of truth for anything important.
- 10
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kodisc and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the service is capped at the greater of one hundred US dollars or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
- 11
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved directly will be settled in the state or federal courts located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
- 12
Changes to these terms
We will update these terms as the product grows. Material changes are announced by email and in-product banner at least fourteen days before they take effect. Continuing to use Kodisc after a change means you accept the new terms.
